PCA for 7-year-old in S. Burlington (3 days / wk)
Description
My name is Jovana Guarino and I am the grandmother of a 6, almost
7-year-old Autistic child that lost his mother at the age of 2. My ex
husband and I are raising Frankie. Both Frank and I live in Stonehedge
and are his maternal grandparents; Frank his adoptive father. Frankie
lives between our homes that are less than a minute apart.
We built a 600 sq. ft room in Frank’s condo devoted to Frankie’s care with a
bathroom and refrigerator that was specifically designed with the help
of SD for Frankie’s therapy/play room. The area has direct outside to
inside access and is sandwiched safely between townhouses in
Stonehedge with spacious grounds to play.
Responsibilities
This PCA position is a 3-day per week, 3-4 hours per day (during the school calendar with
additional hours during school vacations and summer.) The position is
totally about exercise; swimming, biking, walking, going to the
playground, dancing in the wind, rain, mud and snow, and indoor
activities (weather pending) with a setup of balance beam, trampoline,
puzzles, books, toys and lots of space to just bounce around. We take
our PCAs to medical apts., out to dinner (when covid allows) and you
become part of our family.
Frankie is 95 lbs, taller than the average 12 yr old and it takes an athletic, strong willed, let’s go get it personality to jump on this raft with us. We pay the highest wage
allowed by ARIS, which is $15 per hour. The most important thing to us
is that Frankie is given the freedom to physically and emotionally
explore and express himself in safe surroundings with responsible
people after his long days of therapy sessions. Those moments of
personal growth are equally important to all of his therapy.
